Smile (2010-)

A long, frustrating journey begins for Raina after a simple fall severely injures her two front teeth. Her sixth-grade year becomes defined by on-again, off-again braces, surgery, and the daily embarrassment of headgear and a retainer with fake teeth. This physical ordeal unfolds against the backdrop of a major earthquake shaking her world. Meanwhile, the social landscape of middle school proves just as unstable, filled with boy confusion and friends whose loyalties are not what they seemed. The struggle to be a normal student continues in every hallway and dentist's chair.
