The Flooded Zone has swallowed another team of government contractors. Tanner "Griz" Grisholm is the one they call to retrieve them, a specialist in handling the things that crawl from the cracks in reality. His work is complicated by a persistent necromancer with a personal vendetta and his own partner, a volatile chainsaw-wielding koala named Cuddles. As Griz navigates the shifting, predatory terrain, he finds signs pointing back to his former crew, the Howling Gargoyles. Their involvement turns a simple recovery job into a confrontation with a past he thought he'd left on the road. The zone's geography seems to shift with his memories.
