In the skies over Nazi-occupied Europe, a violent encounter between U.S. Sergeant Sal Romero and a young Nazi officer, Felix Bruckner, triggers an infernal transformation. Bruckner has become host to an unspeakable evil, and in the aftermath, Romero is reborn as Ghost Rider '44. His mission is no longer a simple military objective. He now hunts Bruckner and his forces across the war-torn continent, a flaming specter pursuing a demonic counterpart. This personal vendetta against the Nazis expands into a larger struggle for mankind's survival. The conflict draws in other notable figures from the global theater, their paths crossing with the Rider's blazing trail through the smoke and rubble.
