The itinerant Hector Plasm, a man accustomed to confronting spectral threats, finds himself investigating a quarry of flesh and blood. His methods for dealing with the dead are useless here. The evidence points toward Bigfoot, a creature that masters its own obscurity. As suspicion falls on the outsider, Plasm must navigate the town’s distrust and the dense, silent woods to find a truth that is stubbornly terrestrial.
