Jessica Harrow is dead. Her current reality is the Afterlife, a sprawling, bureaucratic metropolis where the recently deceased are processed. Assigned as a Reaper, she now escorts other souls to their final destinations. But her own memory is a blank slate, and the rules of this new existence feel deliberately opaque. The city’s administrators, the Grim Wardens, maintain a strict order that Jessica instinctively questions. Her daily patrols through the city’s ashen districts are a constant reminder of the life she can’t recall, pushing her to uncover the truth behind her own untimely end and the system that now claims her.
