A Mischief of Magpies (2026-)

Mar has a secret. Without warning, he simply falls out of his own life, leaving its familiar drag behind. He lands in an impossible city, a vast machine endlessly traversing a shoreless ocean. Its structure is split: the gleaming, crowded spires rise above the waves, while below, in perpetual twilight, halls are stalked by unseen beasts. Between these two halves, along the rusting mechanical beach, a Mischief of Magpies operates. This anarchic troupe moves through the city’s gears with a chaotic purpose, possessing cryptic answers to riddles no one has asked. Their presence is the only constant in Mar’s unpredictable disappearances.
