The Galadorian known as Rom continues his grim hunt for the shape-shifting Dire Wraiths on Earth. His mission intersects with the X-Men when their Cerebro system identifies a unique signature: the Hybrid, a cross-species offspring. This discovery forces an uneasy alliance, complicated by the phasing abilities of a young Kitty Pryde. The conflict later draws in Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, whose ranks include the formidable Rogue.
