Kitty Pryde has enrolled at the University of Chicago, trading her uniform for textbooks. The campus, however, is not the sanctuary she sought. The same fear and prejudice that follows mutants in the streets has found a home in lecture halls and student unions. Her attempt at a normal life is constantly undermined by the hostile glances and whispered threats of her fellow students. Every interaction is a potential confrontation, forcing her to navigate a new kind of danger without her team. The weight of her past identity presses against the fragile structure of her present. Her dorm room feels less like a refuge and more like another front line.
